⭐ How Do I Use a Conversation Template While I'm Talking with Someone?
If your conversation is on Zoom
Place the template side by side with the Zoom Video, so you can see your template and the person you're speaking with simultaneously.
If your conversation is in-person
1. Before the conversation, study the template before you meet.
2. During the conversation, do your best to stay connected and stay on template.
3. After the conversation, review the template and use the self-rating tool to learn and grow from each conversation.
At first, the templates may feel awkward (like learning a new language).
Taking the time to learn them and add your personality to them can make all the difference in your success.

Yes! It's as easy as following the system above and using the templates.
And, no, it's not easy. Even though you're giving them the gift of your undivided attention... for them to book a consult with you, they're saying "no" to everything else they could be doing! They may not be paying with their money, but they are paying with their time.

⭐ How Long Does It Take To Create Mastery?
You can’t go to 1 (or 10) Karate classes and get a black belt. You also can’t master a template by using it once or (10 times).
The first 30 times you use a template, you are in learning mode so if you get a client, awesome! You got paid to learn.
Once you’ve used a template 30 times, you may step into a level of mastery that creates exponential results.
And, the great news is that many of the Fill Your Event templates are similar in structure, so for example, when you master the Get Referrals Template, you’ll also be getting better at the Book Speaking Gigs template.
INNER GAME SUPPORT
⭐ Is There a More Comfortable Way to Get Clients?
There’s the short term discomfort of inviting people to book a consult.
And the chronic, long term discomfort of having less money and less fulfillment.
Choose your discomfort.
Where the discomfort is... is where the growth is. Transformational Leaders lean into the discomfort and prioritize connecting and serving people instead of collapsing.
⭐ Aren’t I Just Spamming People?
Yes, if you are reaching out to people solely to make money, without caring at all about the quality of their one life they get to live. Or if you're adding people to your email list where you send them mass emails without their explicit consent. That's spam.
But reaching out to individual people to initiate conversations. That's being a human.
And it's also what leaders do. Leaders connect with people. At least 3 people per day. In a way that supports them and inspires them to have their best life.
Be a leader, not a spammer.
⭐ What Separates You From all the Annoying Cold Dm'ers on Social Media?
1. Your Intent
Many "Cold DM'er's" spam people using AI to begin chats. Or use salesy scripts that turn people off.
Reverend Deborah Johnson says: "Your Intention shows up before you do." If your intent is to connect, serve and uplift, then you will stand out as a blessing amidst the noise.
If you take 30-60 seconds before reaching out, to read through their profile so that you can customize your first message to what's important to them, your message may be greeted with appreciation.
Some Thrivers say a short prayer or intention for the person they're reaching out to, before they send their message.
2. Your Template
Our templates are designed to only invite them to book a consult when they raise their hand and say I'm interested. If you follow the template, your conversations will be connected and inspiring, and you will be far less likely to enter the sales box of their mind.
Real Talk
Still, some people will not appreciate your message. Many will either not see your reach out or ignore it. Occasionally some people might be rude.
Your ability to remember that your intention is to connect, serve and uplift, and your ability to stick with the template will make or break this strategy for you.
Remember, the only way to master this strategy is to focus on the people who do respond (your people)... and NOT the people who don't respond or respond negatively.
⭐ What If I’m Introverted?
You can spend 95% of your day cozy inside your turtle shell… but if you can peek out for 5% of your day and let your people know you’re here, you care, and you want to support them…. This can make a world of difference for them and for your business.
⭐ How Can I Feel Safe Reaching Out to All of these People I Know?
The Smart Templates, if you use them well, will allow you to be VERY effective without being salesy, weird, or creating awkward situations. In this case, a deeper sense of safety will come with mastery.
WHAT OTHER OPTIONS ARE THERE TO ATTRACT CLIENTS?
⭐ Can’t I Just Let People “Come To Me?”
You could try that, but then growing your business might take many years. And you may not have the patience or financial runway to sustain that.
Leadership takes courage and visibility. Once you show up as a leader to enough people, they will start coming to you. But you have to show up first.
⭐ Can’t I Just Pay For Ads?
You could try that. And if you’re a therapist or mental health professional, advertising on Pyschology Today is a goldmine for you to get clients. And it’s great to list your services in online services like Yelp.
But paying for ads can be very expensive… especially if your messaging isn’t extremely compelling yet. If you can’t get warm people who know you to book consults or refer people to you, it’s harder and more expensive to get cold people you've never met to do the same. So we recommend building your client attraction skills before you start pumping money into ads.
⭐ Is Posting On Social Media Enough To Book Consults?
Posting on social media 1-5 times per week:
1. Tells people you’re in business (and that it’s not just a hobby).
2. Tells Potential Clients and Referral Partners who you are and what’s important to you.
And it can lead to you getting clients. The more you post and the better your posts, the more likely you are to get clients. But unless you’re an amazing writer, with lots of attractive photos and a large following, relying on social media as your only source of clients is not sufficient.
It's essential that you work some of the other 9 paths to fill your pipeline with potential clients.
⭐ What if I'd Rather Get Clients from Speaking to Groups (Online or In-Person)?
Speaking to groups (online or in person) is a GREAT way to get clients, especially if you've already taken Six Figure Speaker.
In the meantime, it's a great idea to master the art of attracting clients 1-1, because it's a very important foundation to support your speaker success.
⭐ What if I'd Rather Get Clients from my Funnel(s)?
Having a funnel is great, but it's important that you send people to your funnel. There are lots of ways to do that, but one of the most powerful ways is to have Heartselling Conversations with JV Partners, Event Hosts, Podcast Hosts, etc. where you invite them to send their people to get your Free Gift, which puts them on your email list and will then invite them to either come to your event or book a consult with you.

⭐ Will I Need to Have 3 Conversations per day when I'm More Successful?
It's a great idea, but the nature of the conversations will change.
You might have conversations with:
1. High end clients (individually or in groups)
2. New Potential Clients who want to invest in bigger packages.
3. JV Partners or the Hosts of Speaking Events.
3. Your Assistant or your team (to help you have more free time and time in your genius).
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE THE TIME?
⭐ No Growth (No Heartselling™ Conversations)
If you're not having Heartselling™ Conversations, we recommend that you don't hold the expectation that you're going to get a lot of clients quickly (even if you're posting on social media).
If they do come in, AWESOME! But consistent, steady clients (and money) come from having Heartselling™ Conversations... and the more Heartselling Conversations the more high-paying clients generally come in.
There is a season for everything (including bringing in new clients). So if you're not having Heartselling™ Conversations, it doesn't mean you're bad or wrong. But it IS something to inquire about.
Are you aligned with NOT bringing in new clients? This means that you're choosing to prioritize other things and choosing (either consciously or unconsciously) that you don't want clients now. Here are the 5 situations where we see this the most:
1. You have plenty of clients (and don't want anymore).
Congratulations! This is a great time to raise your price for 1-1 work.
And if you're in Platinum, this is a great time to shift your focus to group work. You can speak to groups, lead workshops, and fill your online course or high end group program.
2. You want to take time for travel.
Sometimes 1-3 month trips or vacations are exactly the thing to do.
Before you head off to Fiji, it's ideal to ask yourself if you can afford to take a month (or the Summer) away from your business. This can prevent you from accidentally sabotage your business and giving up on your entrepreneurial dream.
3. You have to take care of other important areas of your life
Sometimes life calls us to prioritize areas of our life outside of our business. (like kids, grandkids, partner, full time job, caretaking parents, etc.)
But before you stop all client attraction and put everyone else's needs before your own, check in with yourself:
Can you afford to stop all client attraction?
Are you aligned with putting your business on hold?
If your answer to either of these questions are No, you can:
a. Ask other people to help you.
b. Wake up one hour earlier or go to bed one hour later (to make time for 3 Heartselling Conversations per day).
c. Increase your capacity. Increasing your self-care by 15-30 minutes per day, can triple your productivity, and give you more time to attract clients.
d. Decrease the time suckers. See the Getting Distracted section below to support you further.
4. You get sick or hurt
If you get sick or hurt, this is a great time to carve out time to rest so that you can fully recover and come back to your business with renewed enthusiasm.
If you're seriously sick or injured (to the point where you're in the hospital or simply can not work), we would be happy to pause your program for up to 2 months.
But if you're consciously choosing to not bring in clients (for a non-emergency reason), please do not ask Thrive to pause your program.
We expect there to be times when you aren't actively growing your business. We build those times into the length of your program and still deliver the program as promised. If you choose to take a week off, a month off or a summer off, we'll be here the moment you're ready to dive back in.
⭐ Getting Distracted
If you're constantly running out of time to have 3 Heartselling™ Conversations per day, we get it. Most humans procrastinate doing the hard, courageous tasks. If you find yourself doing this, you can answer these questions and bring this to your Thrive Coach.
Busying Yourself with Non-Essentials
If you find yourself cleaning your sock drawer for the third time this week, it might be time to look at how you busy yourself to avoid showing up as a leader and setting your business up for success.
Entertaining Yourself
・The average person spends 52 minutes per day on online phone games.
・The average person spends 2.5 hours per day on social media.
・The average Netflix subscriber spends over 3 hours per day on Netflix.
・The average person spends 42 minutes per day on Youtube.
That's over 7 hours that people spend entertaining themselves instead of attracting clients and changing the world.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
1. How much time do you average on those platforms? Your phone has a setting called "Screen Time" that will give you accurate data.
2. What would be possible if you:
a. Enjoyed those platforms more (and spent half as much time on them, guilt free).
b. Used those extra minutes/hours to get high-paying clients?
3. Most important: Did you schedule Heartselling™ Conversations in your calendar?
⭐ What if You Don’t Have Time for Heartselling™ Conversations?
Often, when people say that they don’t have 1 hour per day to talk with potential clients, it’s because they would rather do ANYTHING but have Heartselling Conversations with referral partners or potential clients.
If you find yourself saying this, here's a question: If you suddenly got 5 new clients at $1,000 per month, who each wanted 1 session per week. Would you find those extra 5 hours per week to coach them?
If your answer is No, then, you'll need to choose one of these options:
1. Cut out some time-wasters,
2. Set some boundaries for yourself (and possibly say no to some obligations).
3. Consciously decide that you're not in a season to attract clients right now.
If your answer is Yes, you could find 5 hours per week to make $5,000 per month, then you have the time. You just have to schedule it.
As your schedule fills up with paying clients, you can have fewer Heartselling™ Conversations with Potential Clients.
⭐ How Do I Get Myself to Actually Work my Client Attraction Plan?
Heartselling™ Conversations are often the first thing to drop off (because they take courage). If you skip a day or two, don't beat yourself up. Just hop back on the train.
Here are 4 ways to actually do this:
1. Block out the times in your calendar
2. Set Intentions and Celebrate Successes in the HUB each day (to keep you on track)
3. Share your plan with your Thrive Coach
4. Share your plan with your Thrive Buddy (if you have one).
